You can get on the internet just about anywhere now.  You can read blogs and write blogs and comment.  It is so cool it’s not even funny.  There is so much information out there that it can be overwhelming and daunting.

I feel like a kid in the candy shoppe when I look around and try to figure out what it is that I want to read, watch, listen to, or write.  There are so many possibilities.  Is it podcasts?  Is it the latest TV show? Is it fiction? Is it technical? or is it about real people doing real things.  When  it comes down to it, it is all about us, the subjects of Blogistan doing real things and boosting each other up.

So I have a question for all of you out there in Blogistan (ruled by the Evil Prince Dave Doolin).

What is it you like to reach for in the Candy Shoppe?  What do you go for first in a world filled with wonderful things?

And a Second only slightly less important question: What would you like to see more of on this site?  I’ll tell you now, video is probably not going to happen.  I am seriously considering audio though.  How do transcripts of posts sound? Or would each recording need to be original?

Please let me know what you all think out there.  The community must be served.

Thanks in advance and with flourishing bows,

Your humble vassal,

  1. ROFL @ Evil Prince Dave Doolin 😀

I tend to read just about everything that comes my way…unless it sounds boring or isn’t something I care about.

I think you are doing a great job…each post is honestly, totally you which is awesome. The audio sounds good, but I think it should be a new stuff not you going over the stuff that’s already out there in print. The one exception to that being your fiction..that would be cool to hear you reading 🙂

Wish you could do video but having the little one’s around its understandable that you can’t. Keep on keeping on my friend 🙂

    • thanks for the ideas, I hadn’t thought about the fiction audio. I may mess with video when the kids are in bed but by then things may not make much sense. I just have this aversion to video. I think I may start audio with Saturday fiction…..and I sent this on twitter but check out http://website-in-a-weekend.net/blogistan/ this is Dave’s discussion of his ideas for Blogistan.
      Thanks for dropping by!

  2. What I like about this blog is you never quite know WHAT you’re gonna read next. I dunno about the rest of your readers, but I appreciate that spontaneity. I agree with Jenn, fiction audio would be pretty cool – or what about video that’s just screen caps and stuff? Doesn’t necessarily need to be you staring at the lens to be good video.

    • I’m glad that my style works because I don’t want to be stuck in any rut. I think I will do a fiction audio for this Saturday and see how it goes. I just am not a big fan of the video blog in general. We will see, maybe a screen tutorial, that isn’t a bad idea.
      Thanks for dropping by!
