Hey Folks Happy Monday!  It was a crasy weekend so I just have a short thought and a short video for you.

This is all about perseverance.  The ability to keep going in the face of great adversity.  The ability to keep blogging and building your business despite the demands of life, or your family, or anything else that gets thrown in your way.

This clip  is from what is probably my favorite movie ever (even though I had to give up a top 10 favorite movie list years ago.  Too many good movies on it), The Princess Bride.  This movie has been around since 1987.  If you haven’t seen it, shame on you.  Go rent it.  Get it on Netflix.  But check it out, it is really good, and PG so the kiddies can watch too!

To set up the scene, Inigio Montoya has been searching for the 6 fingered man who killed his father for over 20 years.  He has been totally obsessed with finding this guy and challenging him to a duel for his fathers honor.  He finally finds said 6 fingered man and the next scene follows:

So take this into your life and your blogging, Stay the Course.  Even if it takes you over 20 years to reach your goals, you can achieve them.

Even when the odds are against you and everyone is trying to cheat and stab you in the gut when you come around the corner, find that place inside you that holds your drive and your purpose.  Find it and tear it open.

Stick with whatever it is you are doing until you meet your goals.  You will succeed.  Man I sound like Nate Hangen today.  That is a good thing!

Go enjoy the day.

  1. I would have never thought to relate the Princess Bride to blogging or achieving my life’s goals. I totally dig the way you thing man! And I love the movie, so many awesome quotable lines in there.

I will have to watch the movie again with an eye towards life lessons… or maybe I should pick another movie just to see what I can find 🙂

Totally agree with the keep on keepin on your speaking of today, as well. Let me add that you shouldn’t be afraid to try a new way if your current way isn’t getting the results you want. Don’t get to attached to HOW you want to get there, and you will get there through a lot of trial and error.

  2. I haven’t seen the movie yet(shame on me, right?)but I like the way you reminded us to keep at it.

Staying strong when times are tough can be difficult (believe me, I know from personal experience!) but taking longer to achieve things that you had initially hoped is still better than giving up or giving in.

  3. Just don’t forget that high quality content while you perservere.

  4. Justin, that’s yet another great scene from The Princess Bride. And what a great tie-in to staying motivated in tough times and reaching your goal. Keep it up, buddy. Have a great week…drew 🙂

  5. Ah yes.

This movie is at the top of my favorite movie list along with Star Wars and Indiana Jones.

    Anybody want a peanut?
