Do you ever get a strange little…Deja Vu feeling? That is what I had when we got into this new house.  Imagine if you will a deep dark hole.  Then imagine throwing everything that you own into it, except the computer of course.  That is just how I felt On this July 1st when I picked up my second Uhaul truck in a week.

And then it was just doing it all over again.  Moving your entire house twice in the space of a week is exhausting, not only mentally, but physically.  Or maybe I should say that the other way around.

**Sorry for the delay, this should have been out on Thursday but a screaming baby all night long does not for blog posts make.**

The July 4th weekend is supposed to be full of fun, fireworks, and community to celebrate the day when we told King George just which boat he could take to Hell.

As John Adams so eloquently wrote to his wife in 1776, “The second day of July 1776, will be the most memorable epoch in the history of America. I am apt to believe that is will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary festival. It ought to be commemorated as the day of deliverance, by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, and illuminatinos , from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward forevermore.”

You have to love John Adams.  Anyway, This July 4th weekend would be celebrated with sweat and hard work.  After a brief party for my son’s first birthday on the 1st, it was work all weekend.  This time we did not have help.  It was myself and my wife and the kids moving us.  One or two people did show up to help some but nothing like the turnout we had for moving out.  Not that this was a bad thing.  It was a lot of work but we could put everything right where we wanted it.

We also got to see just how fast our other house was packed up.  There were boxes with things from opposite sides of the house in them.  There were things that seemed to go together from the kitchen and then a hammer.  Things like that.  No, I am not complaining.  It was fun to see how people utilized boxes.  And we were very thankful for the help.  We had lots of time to move out of the storage unit but not much to move into it.

We started with beds and then several other things.  We finally got most everything that we needed into the house and collated into one storage unit instead of the two it took to house our lives.  As I write this, there is one more load of mostly garbage in that storage unit and we will be out of that as well.  Moving is not fun.  It would be better going from one place to another instead of having the intermission of the storage unit.  I am glad it is finally about done.

Have a great weekend folks.  I hope mine will be good.  See Cantankerous Old Coots today for the rant on that.  Fiction will resume tomorrow, and the 6th and final part of my moving saga will be on Wednesday, maybe Monday.  Podcast Thursday!
