Another week of spotty writing huh? Yes that is what you have here at Catharsis of the Bogue. This holiday time of year is full of so many different stresses I have had 3 migraines already this month! I have a couple of posts about that in the works as well.
Today I have been running all over finding presents for the kids. So we are not just buying meaningless crap but we have a tradition now, where we have to make presents for each other in the family. All of the kids make stuff for each other as well as Mom and Dad. Of course they still get toys but this is so much more meaningful for them.
They love to figure out what they can make for each other and how to keep it secret. It is getting harder now that we have done this for a couple of years now. They have to think harder. They have to actually think about what the other kids would like.
I would tell anyone to do this for their kids. It is such a great way to get back to the true meaning of Christmas and away from the cliche’s and commercial BS.
Even today, we went to the mall, not to shop but to use their Christmas decorations for some pictures of the kids. The only problem was that there was not many decorations out. We were disappointed with that but the worst thing there was Santa Claus. Not Santa himself but the whole village that they had set up for him.
It was kind of space themed, NORAD inspired and so….not Christmas. It was so not Santa as we like to think of him here. The kids didn’t even want to sit on his lap, they want to wait until we go to Santa’s workshop with the Make-A-Wish foundation this week. More on that to come.
Anyway I have got to go sleep, the caffeine is finally wearing off. Oh, and a bit of housekeeping, With the evolution of this site over the past 2 years I have decided that it no longer reflects the original thoughts that I had. I still will be calling it Catharsis of the Bogue, that won’t change but the whole brain idea has kind of gone by the wayside.
As a result, the musings from my brain will cease to dribble out at justinsbrainpan.com and will be transferred in whole and in part to Catharsisofthebogue.com. For the next month or so I will be moving the site and hopefully it will not be noticeable to you fine folks who read my blog. If you would though, take a moment and update your bookmarks from justinsbrainpan.com to catharsisofthebogue.com. If that is more than you want to type, I have also appropriated justinsbrain.com and it all points back to my main site. You can just delete the “pan” from your bookmarks and you will still be able to read the infrequent but increasing posts on this site.
So, please don’t go away, but update your bookmarks soon. I am not sure how long justinsbrainpan.com will be online, but mid January is probably it. I am looking at changing hosts and my current contract is up then!
Anyhow, have a great weekend, I am going to get a podcast or two back online as well, recording earlier than I have before and in queue. Imagine that. The new year awaits and the 2 year anniversary of this site approaches.
Thanks for all of your support over the years. Yea I can use the plural now. You guys rock.
