Hello everyone! So I went fishing for the first time this year this past weekend. Didn’t catch anything but a whole potload of mosquito bites. Anyway, way back when we were studying Keats in school and the “Ode on a Grecian Urn” caught my attention more for the title than anything else.
I was also reading the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy series and Vogon poetry was very entertaining. So I wrote a couple of silly “odes” myself. I will give you the other one next week, but today, Ode to a fish.
Ode to a Fish
By: Justin Matthews
Fish, oh shiny fish,
It is you I would least like to kiss.
Your fishy lips are pierced by my hooks,
Soon you will be cleaned and ready to cook.
Your slime is so slick,
Your skin is not thick,
You make it hard to live
Without your excitement to give
This otherwise dull life!
A bit of a stretch at the end huh? I am much better now. I will be getting some new stuff written and up soon. Thanks for reading.
