As much as I would like to just repost what I wrote last year about Memorial Day, I can’t do that.  But I will link to it!  CLICK HERE to see that post.

This year I still want to reflect on what Memorial Day should mean to everyone living in this big old country of ours.  Today, Memorial Day is the day where we honor all of those in our lives who have passed on.  We put flowers on the graves of our Grandparents, Great Grandparents, and sometimes Parents who have preceded us into the great beyond.

Memorial Day!

It has been a busy weekend!  We spent all day yesterday decorating the graves of our Grandparents and my wifes Father.

Last weekend, we decorated my Great Grandparents graves.  I know it may be obligatory, but I really like to see the cemetery filled with flowers, yellow ribbons and Flags.  It is always a good thing to remember those who have gone before us.

So today, I want to say Thank You to all of those who have served in the military or are currently serving in the military.  Thank you for defending our freedom, and sacrificing your time and energy in far flung places so that I can sit here and write this blog, knowing that there is the Constitution guaranteeing my right to do so.

I also want to say thank you to all of those brave men and women who have served our country and have given their ultimate to make sure it says free.  I will never forget that sacrifice you have made for our country.  I sit here writing through tear blurred eyes, with pride, staring at the Red, White, and Blue that still waves proudly over this country.  For that honor I salute you.

My fourth child is due on July 12, but it is looking like my wife will be induced a week early on the 5th.  I am vainly hoping that somehow my child will be born on the 4th of July, one of my favorite holiday’s.  One that was made possible by patriots in 1776 and has been defended for 234 years by patriots, who continue that honorable pursuit today.

Please check out this page…it was a letter from a Marine to his Father and it is particularly appropriate for today.

Finished?  No go barbecue something!
